Bringing value to our Farmer Shareholders
We look forward to sharing details soon of this year’s Farmer Shareholder loyalty bonus for the financial year 1st October 2022 to 30th September 2023.
Mole Valley Farmers exists for the greater good of its shareholders, with our core sense of purpose to improve productivity, profitability and sustainability on-farm.
Our unique loyalty bonus scheme underpins our cooperative ethos and is a recognition and thank you for the loyalty of our shareholders who support the business with the purchase of their essential agricultural farm inputs including feed, minerals and fertiliser.
Collaboration and cooperation have to underpin everything we do as a farmer-owned business.
The past year has seen continued upward pressure on prices and stubbornly high-interest rates.
We firmly believe we are collectively stronger when we work together, using our scale and buying power to weather price volatility, ensure security of supply and combat general unpredictability in the market.
Our CEO Jack Cordery said: “Our loyalty bonus scheme is designed to return money to you based on what you spend. The more you source your essential inputs through us, the more you receive.
“By working together and by committing to buy through us, the better the deals we can secure on your behalf. I am passionate about the role we play in securing competitive prices so we can continue to deliver outstanding value for you, our Farmer Shareholders.”
Our strategy is to invest in our mills and production sites, drive down the costs of production, improve product quality and support your needs as the industry continues to change.
We also continue to invest in the on-farm and customer service teams to support you and provide the best levels of service possible.
And this year alone we have launched great new products, including Virus Shield and Omega Crop, as well as investing £4m in our Lifton Mill in Devon, which boosts our manufacturing capabilities by improving the mill’s raw material storage capacity while lowering production costs and the site’s environmental impact.
National Farmers Union President, Minette Batters, said at the opening of Lifton Mill in June: “It is great to see such huge levels of investment in a farming cooperative. It is a strong sign of strength with productivity, sustainability and profitability as the keys to success.”
We have also recently taken over the lease of ABN’s feed mill at Uffculme in Devon to use as a dedicated organic facility and invested more than £600,000 in new storage facilities at our Newport fertiliser plant.
New initiatives this year also include our Focus Farm group, including Stowell Farms in Wiltshire and Duchy College’s Future Farm in Cornwall.
This will allow us to work and learn together as we all look at new sustainability initiatives and the drive to become carbon neutral.
You can expect to receive your loyalty bonus, paid in the form of Mole gift cards by Christmas.
The scheme continues in its present format for the new financial year to September 2024.
Thank you for your continued support and wishing you all a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.
