Royal Mail Postal Strike

ROYAL MAIL POSTAL STRIKE – IMPORTANT GUIDANCE ON WHEN TO POST FAECAL WORM EGG COUNT KITS

The Communication Workers Union have confirmed that industrial action will take place on 26th and 28th August and the 8th and 9th September. This will cause disruptions to Royal Mail postal services.

There is only a six day time frame from the day the samples are collected for a viable Faecal Worm Egg Count for sheep, cattle and horses. Faecal Worm Egg Count Kits posted the day before, during or in the days after any strike will be subject to delay.

Therefore we are asking anyone who intends to use a kit within the next few weeks to not post any samples between:

  • WEDNESDAY 24th AUGUST AND THURSDAY 1st SEPTEMBER
  • WEDNESDAY 7th AND MONDAY 12th SEPTEMBER

Date the back of the envelope which is included in the kit with the date you collected the sample. This will enable the laboratory to prioritise testing older samples first.

You can purchase your faecal egg count kits from your local store or order them online at moleonline.com but expect the post service to take a few extra days during the industrial action.

If you have any questions, please speak to one of our Registered Animal Medicines Advisors at your local store or phone 01769 576415.
