Nearly £300,000 returned to shareholders through loyalty bonus scheme

We are pleased to announce a loyalty bonus payment of almost £300,000 to Farmer Shareholders for the financial year 1st October 2022 – 30th September 2023.

The bonus was earned through the accrual of points on the purchase of key agricultural inputs and was paid out in the form of Mole Valley Farmers gift cards at the end of December.

In total, £292,512 was paid through the scheme, which has been running for the past two years.

Mole Valley Farmers exists for the greater good of our farmer shareholders, with our core sense of purpose to improve productivity, profitability and sustainability on-farm.

Mole Valley Farmers CEO Jack Cordery said: “Our unique loyalty bonus scheme underpins our cooperative ethos and is a recognition and thank you for the loyalty of our shareholders who support the business with the purchase of their essential farm inputs including feed, minerals and fertiliser.

“The scheme is designed to return money to our shareholders based on what they spend. The more essential inputs that are sourced through us, the more they receive. By working together, with our shareholders committing to buying through us, the better the deals we can secure. In a challenging environment, it is essential we secure competitive prices so we can continue to deliver outstanding value for our farmer shareholders.

“The past year has seen pressure on farmgate prices, high interest rates and high inflation. We firmly believe we are collectively stronger when we work together, using our scale and buying power to weather price volatility, ensure security of supply and combat general unpredictability in the market.”

Throughout the past year, we have continued to invest in our feed mills and production sites with the aim to drive down costs and improve product quality to support our shareholders, members and farming customers.

In June we unveiled a £4m upgrade to our Lifton feed mill on the Devon/Cornwall border, and in September we took over the lease of ABN’s feed mill at Uffculme in Devon to operate it as a dedicated organic production facility. We also recently invested over £600,000 in new storage facilities at our fertiliser plant in Newport, South Wales.

The loyalty bonus scheme continues for the year ahead, with more information about the scheme, and joining Mole Valley Farmers, available at moleonline.com/farmershareholder
